Brig Gen Syed Ahmed Ali, PBGM, ndc
Brigadier General Syed Ahmed Ali PBGM, ndc took charge as the 22nd Principal of Adamjee Cantonment College on 15 January 2017. Principal Brig Gen Syed Ahmed Ali is widely known as one of the most efficient, dedicated and brilliant officers in Bangladesh Army.
Brig Gen Syed Ahmed Ali was born in an aristocratic Muslim family on 17 March 1963. He joined the Army as Gentleman Cadet on 19 January in 1984 and was commissioned with 13th BMA Long Course on 20 December 1985. Later on, he obtained MSDS Degree. Subsequently, he successfully completed almost all the professional courses specially designed for the Army officers. Among the courses, the remarkable ones are Officer Military Police Course, Unit Command & Staff Course and NDC course.
During his long shining career, Brig Gen Syed Ahmed Ali held many important appointments in Bangladesh Army including Commanding Officer, 8 Field Regiment Artillery; Additional Director General, Border Guard Bangladesh; General Staff Officer-2, 33 Artillery Brigade; Colonel Admin, Defence Services Command & Staff College; Director (Operations), Special Security Force; Station Commander, Station Headquarters Comilla and on top of that he successfully accomplished a couple of UN missions in Sierra Leone and Congo.
Principal Brig Gen Syed Ahmed Ali visited many countries as part of his professional responsibility. Remarkable ones are USA, Sierra Leone, Ginny, Morocco, UAE, Congo, Kuwait, UK, Uganda, Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria, Thailand, Singapore, Nepal, Brunei, India and China.
In personal life, Principal Brig Gen Syed Ahmed Ali is blessed with two sons. His eldest son is serving as Lieutenant in Bangladesh Army while his youngest son is a 12th grader at Mirzapur Cadet College. His wife Madam Salma Parvin is well-known as a very loving, generous and sympathetic lady. His father late Al-hazz Syed Ashraf Ali served as Deputy Secretary at Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Dhaka. During his lifetime, he made a significant contribution to education by establishing many schools and colleges.
